Most stolen copy and ripping off lawyers

What parts of web pages are most often ripped

I was thinking about this and I think that the most often ripped off copy, certainly from major sites, it the legal guff about visitors T&Cs.

Most sites would look to copy and paste the info from a major site (who may have paid someone with legal training to come up with it) - because who would want to pay a lawyer hundreds/thousands for this legalese for every website they build?

Has anyone here ever paid a lawyer to write appropriate T&Cs or Legals for a website?

If no-one has any recollection of paying then perhaps there was once a lawyer paid to write the original legal bit and he's since been ripped off billions of times. Which sounds kind-a funny!

The previous company I worked for did everything above board, which means that all sites had T&C's and privacy policies especially written by qualified legal practitioners.

Mind you, I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that the legal profession uses "templates" for this type of thing...

And you can too - Nolo Press has a lot of "everyday law for the everyman" type of books that I believe have all sorts of boilerplate.

I can't keep up with it -- then again, I am in a vertical where it is nearly impossible to even find where the site is hosted from who is the webmaster, etc.

I just checked something -- one of my top pages has literally 86 plagiarizers publishing the exact paragraph cut & pasted from my page.

My page is still top ten out or scores of millions & I never get penalized for duplicate content.

Go by the keywords -- if their site SERPS up when you do a search for your key words go after them. Otherwise, nobody will ever see their page any way.

It's kinda sorta a compliment when I get ripped off.
