Am planning a big site on Dracula and vampires. Find writing endless content to be extremely laborious, so need good source of free articles on vampires.

Anybody know of anywhere I can obtain such material?

Rent-a-Goth?

Seriously though, goth people would probably love to write those for you.

Free articles are likely to be duplicate content, but as MB points out you may be able to find some enthusiasts to write for you for little or no pay. To get the site going, you might want to pay a content writer for a batch of articles. Then, put notices up that you are looking for additional articles.

Certainly finding out where like-minded people gather online/offline and announcing that you're seeking new writers and articles is a very good idea.

In the same vein, a good method would be to launch a writing competition; encourage people to submit their content to you for the glory of a small prize and/or the honour of being published. How you do this would depend on the type of articles desired: would you want pure fiction or more serious explorations into cultural & historical traditions, etc? Whatever, a competition a with prizes/accolades in various categories would likely enable you to garner both fresh content, extras visitors and sector prestige.

Why pay for content in a sector brimming with enthusiasts and devotees?

Hit the RPG forums. Vampire: The Masquerade players, etc. Roleplayers love to write. Look for old Prodigy Vampire Pub players. ; )

Finding someone to write a material (even a brief one but unique) is the best solution in my humble opinion too. Otherwise, you'll definitely experience duplicated content problems after that, which I am sure you want to avoid.

Good luck!

Please DO make sure that your content on "Dracula" is accurate. Vlad Tepes may have been born in Transilvania but he ruled over Valahia. All the stories on vampires in Transilvania are nonsense. Good for local tourism, though :)

You can plan a trip to Transylvania, but if that is a bit too lavish, simply hang out at the local Denny's at 3AM on a weekday. There should be at least a handful of goths there that are experts on vampires (as well as dungeon and dragons and comic books).
