Company A has a website.

Company B copies the look and feel of Company A's website, but uses their own text, graphics and color scheme.

But, it is obvious that the design of the site is copied from Company A.

Is anyone aware of any lawsuits where Company A successfully sued Company B for Copyright infringement? URLs to documentation of such suits would also be appreciated.

but uses their own text, graphics and color scheme

This doesn't sound like it would fall under copyright infringement.

I wouldn't be too worried, there's no reason why you can't get inspiration from other sources.

I've found that clients find it easier to explain how they want something to look/work by demonstrating existing examples from one or more sites.

Company A uses a CMS.

Company B uses the same CMS.

Neither of them change anything except logo and color scheme.

Unique and different content on both sites.

They both need a webmaster.

All the top design companys use other sites for inspiration!

One of the top top programmers in his field even advised me todo the same.

The big companys hire big design companys and they have employess who sit and look at the competion in their clients niche.

They take what they want and ditch what they dont.

I don't think that in this case company A may have any evidence to sue company B for copyright infringement, since elements on the website are changed.

You get what you pay for. You need IP legal advice and need to learn the dif between trademark TM, service mark SM and copyright....
