I need your help to decide if this is an OK headline for an article

Hi, I'm trying to find out if one could use the word "toddle" without talking about a child who is walking unsteadily.

If I want to make a funny twist on the term "newbie to models". Could I name my article "ModelToddle"?

Or would this be something an American or an Englishman would never understand, and most likely think: "What is a ModelToddle? - the guy who wrote this should read some English books!"

I know this question might sound wierd, but it is in great value to me as a scandinavian trying to come up with something clever. ;)

From a journalistic perspective, the headline should not be some "cute" play on words. That's a poor headline.

Yes, some writers insist on doing it and yes, they are creating poor headlines.

If your headline stops the reader, you have already created a bad piece regardless of what the rest of the article is like.

I have never heard the word "Toodle" I think you are trying for the word "Toddler". That is a small baby, one that can walk but is not yet sure on their feet.

Toddle.

1. To walk unsteadily (like a small child - a toddler).

2. To walk in a leisurely fashion (I often used to toddle to the pub).

ModelToddle? Sorry to say, I don't think it will work.

My guess on reading "ModelToddle" would have been that the story had something to do with some new sexual harassment scandal in the British model (fashion) world.

Is it a British term? I grew up in London and never heard it.

Apparently it's more commonly used in Scotland and in the North of England. The only time I hear it in London is when it's used by me :-)

For me the term "ModelToddle" represents toddlers modeling nappies or something along these lines. I don't think the term works that well - but you will never know untill you try these things and find out for your self and then you can say - Ive done things like this and by my experience this works and that doesn't.

Try it.
