My only experience is with drupal. That said, I chose it for all of my sites because of all the great reviews that it gets. There is a very big community around it, which is perhaps one of the best things about the CMS.

Which one from the list has the easiest learning curve?

I am building exactly what you describe - an alumni site. Its using joomla because its easy to manipulate and comes with an interesting social networking tool called community builder.

I have had some problems with community builder, but it seems to be imporving - the main issue is the complexity the user can experience.

It also has excellent gallery integration and can integrate a forum on a single password for the whole site ( although forums can be problematic when integrated with joomla )

People talk about drupal being more elegant, but I cant comment since I don't know that cms

I couldn't say which one has the easiest learning curve. Drupal is the first and only CMS I've ever used, and I'll say that it certainly wasn't not very easy for me in the beginning. However, I'd imagine that other CMSes would be about the same.
